Expression of Interest CAFETERIA OPERATOR 2022 ....
Eastern Hills Senior High School seeks an innovative and resourceful business owner to operate the school’s cafeteria in Mount Helena under a five-year licence agreement in line with the Commercial Tenancy (Retail Shops) Agreements Act 1985. The successful business will offer healthy food and drink options for the students and staff at specified break times, as well as the opportunity for provision of additional catering at school events.
Operation will commence on 31 January 2022 in brand new canteen facilities. Construction will begin in term 3 2021 and is scheduled to finish when the school year commences in 2022. The Canteen Operator will also be providing meals to Mount Helena Primary School which is adjacent to Eastern Hills Senior High School with days to be negotiated.
The canteen will offer a variety of methods of payment including online ordering through Compass Canteen (please see attached information).
Our newly refurbished canteen will have a range of modern equipment installed to allow for a range of menu items to appeal to staff as well as students (please see information attached).
The business will comply with the Department of Education's Healthy Food and Drink Policy and Criminal Screening Policy, in addition to utilising environmentally conscious practices in packaging and waste control.
The School offers a discounted licence fee, particularly in the first years of operation, until Canteen Operator has reached its full business potential. The School currently has an enrolment of approximately 960 students and has the capacity to have 1000 students onsite. The School also has a staff of 103, many of whom would potentially utilise the canteen services. Mount Helena Primary School has approximately 173 students and 28 staff members.
