On Friday 23rd April Eastern Hills SHS had the great privilege of holding our first official whole school assembly to commemorate Anzac Day. This event was the first time all year groups were able to come together in 2021, and the first assembly for the year 7 students.
Our student councillors, led by the Year 12s, hosted this event and demonstrated professionalism and great respect and must be congratulated.
Other members of the school community who this event could not have been a success without, were the school band and Mr Bourgault for their outstanding performance, with particular applause going to Keaton Humphreys, Year 8 student for his inspirational bugle playing.
We had the great honour of hosting Mr. Alan Booker, a Vietnam veteran who gave a memorable Anzac Address. He shared many memories of some amazing heroics by men and women who fought for our way of life.
Special thanks must also go to the staff for all your assistance before and after the assembly, the hospitality team for a delicious morning tea, but the biggest congratulations must go to all the students who behaved with respect and dignity for such a solemn occasion.
